It brings together essay and internal assessment feedback, an AI tutor, a question bank, flashcards, cheatsheets, study guides, exemplars, predicted grades, study planning, and class management tools — all designed to help you achieve your best.
The Thesis Room supports a growing range of subjects across all six IB groups — Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts — plus the Core, with support for Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay. We keep adding more subjects over time.
It's built for two types of users: Students who want structured study support, feedback, and practice across their IB subjects, and Educators who need class management, assignment tracking, and grading tools.

Yes. You can switch your account type from the Account Settings page. Switching to an educator account gives you class management tools, while switching to a student account gives you the essay feedback, tutor, practice, and study planning features.
The editor gives feedback on essays and internal assessments across IB subjects. For Language A this includes Paper 1 (Guided Analysis), Paper 2 (Comparative Essay), the HL Essay, and the Individual Oral. It also covers the Core, including the TOK Essay and TOK Exhibition, plus subject-specific tools for areas like Economics diagrams, History source evaluation, and Psychology studies.
When you write or paste your work in the editor, it's analysed against the relevant IB markbands and you receive detailed feedback on structure, argument quality, use of evidence, language, and areas for improvement. For essays it uses frameworks like PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link) and TEA (Thesis, Evidence, Analysis) to guide your writing.
Yes. Everything you write is saved as a draft that you can return to at any time. You can organise drafts into folders and filter them to keep your work tidy.
Yes. You can share drafts with other registered users by entering their email address. Both you and the person you share with can view and edit the draft. The recipient receives both an email and an in-app notification when a draft is shared.
Yes. The editor supports image uploads so you can include visual material such as annotated texts, diagrams, or source material alongside your writing.
The Question Bank is a large set of exam-style questions organised by subject and topic. You answer a question and get instant, criterion-based marking, along with follow-up explanations and worked walkthroughs. It also keeps track of which questions you've completed.
Flashcards help you lock in key terms, dates, and concepts using spaced repetition, which schedules reviews so things stick. There are ready-made decks across IB subjects for quick daily revision.
Cheatsheets are condensed, exam-ready summaries of the syllabus for each subject — ideal for last-minute revision. Study Guides go deeper on set literary works, covering themes, context, characters, key quotations, and analysis you can use in essays and the Individual Oral.
Exemplars are top-band sample responses that show you what a high-scoring answer looks like, so you have a clear target to aim for across different assessments.
Predicted Grades give you a projected grade based on your work, helping you see your strengths, spot weaker areas, and track how you improve over time.
The AI Tutor gives you real-time study help for any IB subject through both text chat and voice. It's like having a personal tutor available whenever you're stuck, with explanations, examples, and step-by-step walkthroughs.
The tutor uses natural-sounding text-to-speech to speak its responses aloud, creating a video-call style experience. You can also record your own voice to ask questions, making the interaction feel more like a real tutoring session.
Tutor time is tracked based on actual speaking duration — your recording time plus the tutor's speech time. AI Tutor time uses credits (1 credit per 10 minutes), and Premium members get unlimited use.

Educators can create classes, invite students via class codes, set assignments with deadlines, share resources, and post announcements. Students join classes using the class code provided by their teacher and can view assignments, submit work, and access shared resources.
Educators get a dedicated dashboard to manage classes, create and track assignments, review and grade student submissions, share resources (notes, websites, YouTube links, and documents), post announcements with file attachments, and customise their classroom banners.
Yes. Educators can review student submissions, provide criterion-based grades aligned to IB markbands, add detailed feedback and annotations, and export graded work as a PDF.
Yes. Educator accounts are completely free. Educators have full access to class management, assignment creation, grading, and resource sharing tools at no cost.
Most actions on the platform use credits. Each essay or assessment analysis costs 1 credit, each Question Bank question costs 1 credit, and AI Tutor time costs 1 credit for every 10 minutes. You get a set number of credits each month, and Premium members have unlimited credits.
The Free plan includes 10 credits every month and the Pro plan includes 25 credits every month. The Premium plan gives you unlimited credits, including unlimited Question Bank practice and unlimited AI Tutor.
Your credit allowance refreshes each month. To get the most from your plan, it's best to use your credits within the month.
Yes. You can earn bonus credits through features like referrals, and bonus credits can be spent on any plan, including the Free plan.
There are three student plans: Free ($0/month with 10 credits), Pro ($20/month with 25 credits), and Premium ($35/month with unlimited credits, unlimited Question Bank, and unlimited AI Tutor). Educator accounts are free, with an optional Educator Premium upgrade. All paid plans include a 7-day free trial.
Yes. You can manage your subscription at any time through the billing portal in your account settings or on the pricing page. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel. If you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
